Made it to Prince Rupert safely and we have checked in for the ferry for tomorrow.  We have to be in line at 5am to leave for Ketchikan.  There is at least 1 other ....make that 2 other RVs doing the same thing.  One just pulled into the campground for the night.  Trip today was nice, got to see 3 bears.  That makes the total of 7 so far and we haven't hit bear territory yet.  Still looking for moose, lots of signs posted as moose crossings, but no sightings yet.  Hard to tell what time it is out here.  Haven't seen it dark yet, the sky was still pink when we went to bed last night at 10pm and the sun was up when I got up at 5am, so I guess I won't see star studded skies.  Hopefully we will still be able to get connected tomorrow and we can post some pictures of going thru the inside passage and maybe whales....Hope everyone is doing well......
Well, it's about time to hit the road, but while I have wifi I thought that I would do another post.  The scenery has been great with rolling plains, farming fields, lots of cows and very few cars.  We are heading out of the Canadian Rockies today and going down to the coast at Price Rupert.  Tomorrow we board the ferry and go to Ketchikan, Alaska where we spend the night and then on Sunday morning we get back on and go to Skagway Alaska.  By that point the trip will be 2/3 over with only 900 miles left, but that will be the most beautiful part of the travel.  The wildlife should be abundant along parts of the trip so the miles will be very slow with all of the pictures Joe plans on taking.  He told me last night that he can only get about 4800 more pictures on the memory card in the camera, but not to worry because he has another card with him that will take over 2500 more if he needs it.  We are still talking to each other and I have not left him on the along the roadside, yet.  This is only his 2nd day with me, so I ain't promising anything.  Make sure that you click on the link that says trip pictures to see what has been posted.  Very slow upload, so not many pics there, but we are trying.  Love to everyone...I still plan on returning sometime, but who knows what tomorrow will bring....

Sorry that there have been no posts, but North Dakota, Montana, and Alberta have very few wifi spots.

So, what's been going on?  Well, the trip out was uneventful and I arrived in Iowa late Friday night tired, but ready to take off on Saturday.  After signing all of the paperwork, I headed north.  Ended up staying in a truck stop off the highway halfway thru South Dakota.  Sunday I made it to Medora, ND and stayed in Theodore Roosevelt NP.  The buffalo in the picture walked all around my campsite and several other sites as well.  He also had a few friends with him so it made everyones' day snapping pictures and watching them munch their way thru the sites.  I drove around the national park on Monday and then headed north thru Montana.  Lots of farmland and not much else.  Tuesday was a driving day so I could meet Joe at the Edmonton airport on Wednesday.  Yes, I did remember to get him.  We were able to make it to Hinton, Alberta yesterday.  So, that brings us to today, which has been great.  We drove thru Jasper NP, Canada and saw a herd of elk, mountain goats, an eagle, but most exciting---a momma bear with her 3 cubs.  We probably spent 15 minutes pulled off on the side of the road taking pictures and watching momma and kids.  The cubs were so cute, they were climbing up and down in the trees and playing with each other.  Mom kept a close eye on everyone who stopped and made sure the the cubs safe.  After that experience we continued driving west, up and down the mountains and thru several hail storms and snowstorms.  We are now parked in a campground with a river behind us and snow covered mts. surrounding us.  Tomorrow we head to St. Rupert, BC and board the ferry on Sat. morning.  Hopefully, we can get some wifi service within a few days so I can post our travels along with some pictures.  later folks.....

Trip week

I can't believe it.  Vacation week has finally arrived and I am still not packed.  Guess I should think about packing.  More seasoned this time around and won't bring half of the stuff that I brought last time.  There are Walmarts, several in fact, on the way to Alaska, to pick up what ever I forget.  Just have to remember 1 thing...pick up Joe in Edmonton.  Everything else I can buy on the way.  Stay tuned for further updates of our trip.  Hopefully wifi service has improved in the last 4 years and we will be able to make more posts.....catch you from Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota and points north.
